My Thoughts On The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo

Book: The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo

Author: Taylor Jenkins Reid

This is nothing but my personal opinion, I am writing this as I am currently reading the book so please look out for any spoilers. I will try my best to not reveal any pivotal plots of the book but here we go

Day 1-

Even though I decided that I'll read this book slowly I'm at 80 pages on day one. So that goes there.

The book starts with a easy to follow storyline with surprises and questions that are not answered. But we keep swimming.

Evelyn Hugo has a very questionable past or should I say she does not share anything behind the scenes secrets. First she says she wants manique to write a autobiography for her, but not only she offers all the royalty and book deal money to manique but also that she can have a book under her name.

We start with her child self and her humble beginnings, where we can clearly see why she put up with things that happened after she had debuted and had her own money and success. As the story processes and we get better insight into her marriages we can kind of agree and disagree with her. With some hiccups, minor and major flaws in her personality, we go along for the journey.

Day 2-

Boy oh boy, I was not ready for so much today, I am at the 22 chapter mark and it's crazy how the book can keep surprising me.

We learn about the 2nd husband of our protagonist Evelyn and some life details of our secondary character Monique. Monique is separated from her husband and we don't know why, but we have a timeline for when and that's all for now. Monique's father and his ties with the Hollywood community. Which is where we learn about her passion for writing and where it came from, the driving force for her.

Evelyn keeps telling her story and we learn it at the same time as Monique, her turbulent marriage with Don Adler and her friendship with Ruby and Celia. Her becoming best friends with Harry and their shared secret. But I cannot share anything about that because it'll be a spoiler about a major plotline of the book.

So that's it for today, until tomorrow.

Day 3-

We are up to 32 chapter mark and I have so much to say but will have to sensor myself because I don't want to spoil it for anyone else.

Evelyn has some major and minor hiccups in her career which she eventually outsmarts with her own wit and determination. She's not only sure about what she wants but also willing to sacrifice and try new things to work out in her favor. She may lose some things along the way but that is just the damage you have to take with the achievements you have.

Day 4-

Today much to my own regret I finished the book. There were a lot of things that I cannot talk about.

First of all the protagonist of our story is a unlockable character, Evelyn is from my pov a very realistic and unrealistic character at the same time. Realistic for the fact that she knows she has flaws, also that she has made some terrible mistakes in her life. But is her to be willing to acknowledge that part of herself that she for so long kept hidden is a surprising part. The most unrealistic part is she says she wants it all to be out in the open and everyone to have access to this information.

Aside from that this book was a good read for me, it kept me coming for more and kept me engaged to not only complete the book in mere 4 days but to also write this so I can remember it.

If by any chance you have read till now, Thank you for the read, I hope you have the best of weeks ahead of you.
