My Thoughts On "I Want To Die But I Want To Eat Tteokbokki"

Image
A book that will take you on a spin with the title but has a very interesting is this book. The name is not something you think will be covering such topics but it does.     The book is a conversations between the author and her therapist, the conversations fell superficial at first but when you look at it with concerning eyes you realize  how deep the conversation is. The author has decided to sought a therapist to deal with their self-image or the depression she is feeling. Such a heavy topic is put in such a word that it is easy to read through and align with.      You can relate with the author, You can imaging these very problems having a greater impact on you.  You can almost see that these could be issues many of us are dealing with to some level or another. With a lot of noteworthy quotes and some life lessons, this is my short and sweet review of the book.

My Thoughts On "Lives Not Lived"

Image
Book: Lives Not Lived Author: Monica Bhatti          This is a book that left me speechless and traumatized, I don't know what else to say about this.               This is a story about Haree and Naina, both who live in a mans world. Where they are nothing but a commodity, an easy target to have opinions about and make decisions for. This story is a mix of suffering, pain, abuse, marriage an an young age, and a lot more stuff which will make your skin crawl.             But it is realistic and has an edge which will tug at your heartstrings. Naina being a typical girl born and raised in a protective household, is in college and has to navigate this new freedom she is experiencing, while Haree who is a child bride who has found solace in her husband has to go through something that had me shocked and scared for her life. This hit too close considering the story is in Indian househo...

My Thoughts On "Five Survive"

Image
Book- Five Survive Author- Holly Jackson                 This book is for the people who read a book for that "who done it?" feeling. It doesn't just keep you on your toes but also keeps you wondering what's coming! It made me feel anxious, and scared for the characters, sometimes even frustrated but mostly empathetic. Moreover I could feel what those characters were feeling. This one being from my favorite author made it that much special.              The book starts on a neutral note where our 6 characters, Red, her best friend Maddy, Maddy's brother Oliver, his girlfriend Reyna, and their friends Arthur, Simon are on a road trip to go to their school trip. I won't bore you with the character descriptions. Noy they are travelling in a giant RV, and while looking at maps they miss their exit and end up on a narrow road. After a while they can't turn the RV so they keep going until they are in an open...

My Thoughts on "Three Thousand Stitches"

Image
Book- Three Thousand Stitches: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Lives Author- Sudha Murty          This book consists of 11 small stories each of which delve into personal experiences from Sudha Murty mams life. These personal experiences teach us some lesson now it's up to the reader to draw their own conclusions is what I feel.          In one of the stories she shares her experience about how she pursued her engineering degree in time when it was mainly male based domain. Her struggles are empathetic and understandable. Also she adds a story about her trying to help the local prostitutes in just having a little control of their life and it snowballing into a very big thing.          This is a self explanatory book so I won't write more. Hope you have fun reading this.

My Thoughts on "It's Our Turn"

Image
Book- Its our turn Author- D.C. Kile          The first impression of the book for me was that it was an interesting story from the start and keeps you hooked for everything that's to come. A simple start with a female lead with a dream and a very supportive family, now that's what I expect from a small town concept book.          The story starts with "Lucy" moving back to her town after completing her studies and she has decided to open a small bakery. Her family is extremely supportive of her and helps her by cosigning her loan. And after getting a place she starts renovations which are also going smoothly there is only one problem she has a huge crush on her brother's best friend "Cam". She can't seem to get over this dreamy guy no matter how hard she tries, well she did have a crush on him since childhood so what do you expect.           Now to know more you're gonna have to read the book. The boo...
